Learn to Sail with Confidence

SKIPPER TRAINING is designed for beginners who want to master the art of maneuvering a sailboat. Whether your goal is to one day become a licensed skipper or simply to handle a yacht safely, this program gives you the foundation to do so with confidence.

We start by understanding the physics behind the boat and learning how to tie essential knots. From there, we turn theory into practical experience on the water.

What You’ll Learn?

Our training focuses on real maneuvering, not long sailing routes. You’ll spend most of your time entering and leaving marinas, repeating the process until it becomes second nature.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Sail in and out of the marina safely
  • Side-dock and stern-dock from different wind directions
  • Catch and release a buoy
  • Drop and secure an anchor
  • Night navigation
  • Communicate and coordinate with your crew

This course includes very little open-water sailing, instead, it’s built to make you confident where most new skippers struggle: tight spaces, marinas, and docking situations.

Price 690 eur per person.

  • "Luka (29)"

I joined the skipper training with zero experience, and by the end of the week, I was docking the boat completely on my own. The instructor was patient, clear, and really made me understand what’s happening behind every movement of the boat. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn properly, not just get a license.

  • "Zala (26)"

I was always nervous about maneuvering in marinas, but this course completely changed that. We practiced over and over until it felt natural. The skipper explained every mistake in a way that actually made sense, and the group atmosphere was super supportive.

  • "Mark (38)"

Tough but amazing week. Learned real skills, not just theory. 100% worth it if you want to feel in control at sea.

Q & A

WHAT IS SKIPPER TRAINING?

The skipper training offers a comprehensive program designed for individuals who want to acquire or upgrade their sailing skills or advance their careers in the sailing industry.

Our main focus is on yacht handling and maneuvering, including sailing practice, docking in various wind conditions, anchoring, buoy handling, and other essential skipper skills. For this reason, the training does not focus on long sailing distances. Instead, we spend most of our time in and around marinas, practicing maneuvers repeatedly throughout the day.

Each training day is divided into two parts:
a theoretical session, followed by hands-on practical training on the water.

IS ACCOMODATION PROVIDED DURING THE COURSE?

Certainly. Yes, while participating in the skipper training, you will stay in a cabin on your yacht, with all bed linen included. Throughout your skipper training, you'll be sharing a yacht with other candidates, and each day will be dedicated to on-board theoretical learning and practical application under the guidance of the instructor.

WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?

Our instructors are all highly experienced professionals in their respective fields. They will provide comprehensive explanations and live demonstrations for everything onboard. You'll experience a wide range of scenarios and will be required to apply your knowledge to each situation. Throughout the process, your instructors will lead you through various exercises, offer valuable tips and techniques, and provide continuous feedback until you are fully prepared to work independently.

HOW LONG IS THE SKIPPER TRAINING?

The skipper training runs for 4 or 7 days.
The 4-day training is recommended for those who already sail but want to refresh their skills and knowledge.
If you are a beginner, we recommend 7 days. For some, this will be enough; for others, 14 days may be necessary. You will be able to assess this after the training.

WHERE IS IT HELD?

Training takes place in Croatia on the island of Krk in Marina Punat.

AFTER I FINISH, WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE AND THE LICENCE?

Please note that this training does not include a license. However, you will gain all the knowledge and practical skills needed to confidently pass the licensing exam.

A commercial sailing license must be obtained separately and is not included in the skipper training.
